"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

"You must give birth to your images. They are the future waiting to be born. Fear not the strangeness you feel. The future must enter you long before it happens. Just wait for the birth, for the the hour of the new clarity."

Rainer Maria Rilke

wishing you were here

those kisses you sent, i found them wandering around the house. they were acting a little lost, not knowing exactly where i was.

i was busy upstairs. but now we are all having tea and talking about you, and wishing you were here.

and they imparted all you intended. they did well.

one more thing: i have seen you at your best and at your worst; still you are always welcome near me.

""I do believe in an everyday sort of magic - the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.” - Charles de Lint"

Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning
and spread it over the fields
and into the faces of the tulips
and the nodding morning glories,
and into the windows of, even, the
miserable and crotchety—

best preacher that ever was,
dear star, that just happens
to be where you are in the universe
to keep us from ever-darkness,
to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light—
good morning, good morning, good morning.

Watch, now, how I start the day
in happiness, in kindness.

A Four-Fold Benedictine Blessing

May God bless you with a restless discomfort about easy answers, half-truths and superficial relationships, so that you may seek truth boldly and love deep within your heart.

May God bless you with holy anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so that you may tirelessly work for justice, freedom, and peace among all people.

May God bless you with the gift of tears to shed with those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, or the loss of all that they cherish, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and transform their pain into joy.

May God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you really CAN make a difference in this world, so that you are able, with God’s grace, to do what others claim cannot be done.

And the blessing of God the Supreme Majesty and our Creator,
Jesus Christ the Incarnate Word who is our brother and Saviour,
and the Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide,
be with you and remain with you, this day and forevermore.

AMEN

Love this cute guy and the wonderful things he has to say for #25forTrevor. The campaign has 12 days to go and is 65% of the way to the goal of raising $25,000 for The Trevor Project! If you haven’t already, please check out this wonderful cause and consider donating. 25forTrevor.com 25fortrevor:

DAVE - New York - GAY

Q: What would you say to someone, particularly an LGBTQ youth, who was about to attempt suicide?

A: Please don’t give up. Have faith in yourself. Life is hard and everyone struggles with something. But for all the bad things you’re experiencing, there is good. It ebbs and flows and as you grow, you get better equipped to handle the bad. The bad things start to diminish, until “bad” things don’t define your life, only the good things do. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS, that the good is worth waiting around for. Seek help, ask for guidance, pray, but please don’t give up. The change is sometimes instant and noticeable and for others it comes gradually until one day you realize how much you love life. The good things in life are worth waiting for - have faith! I have faith in you.

Never forget…
When you felt so alone with your thoughts
When you felt like you had no one to turn to
When you thought the world would end if you admitted or accepted your truth
When you prayed night-after-night for God to free you from your “evil” thoughts and attractions
When you tossed and turned over the thought of not having a spouse or a family

Never forget…
The fear that your eyes would wander toward theirs
The pain of exposing yourself to rejection from an unreciprocated crush
The loss of a best friend who misunderstood
The torment that festered inside you
The guilt experienced from such simple, innocent attraction

Never forget…
How you felt as a young boy or girl with that secret
How you blushed because you related to the target of a friend or family member’s slurs
How it took you years to get you where you are today
How people in your life have supported you along the way
How many hardships and hard days you faced just because you are uniquely, beautifully you

Never forget…
Those who are still in such a dark place
Those who are and will be bullied today and tomorrow
Those who have years before they can escape
Those who daily seek to find something to just get them through their day
Those who were and are just like you and me

In light of not forgetting those LGBTQ teens who are still longing for better days:

For my 25th birthday, my friends helped me launch an initiative called 25 for Trevor. It’s a 25-day campaign to raise $25,000 for The Trevor Project, which is the United States’ leading provider of crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. You can learn more about their resources at www.thetrevorproject.org. I hope its services are soon modeled in other countries, if not already.

To support or learn more about 25 for Trevor, visit www.25fortrevor.com.Your donation goes toward these lifesaving resources that are so imperative for our young friends.
